Sunrise. The beach is empty, the light is soft and cool, and the white architecture is not yet blown out by the sun. My Alys Beach senior and family sessions usually start on the sand at sunrise and move inland to the shaded streets once the light gets too bright. Sunset also works, but the beach is busier and the streets get harsh light late in the day.
